Lizzy, a mother-koala from Australia, was hit by a car when she and her baby were crossing a road. The driver immediately stopped and took the wounded animal to a veterinary clinic.
The specialists of the zoo hospital diagnosed Lizzy with a head trauma, a collapsed lung and multiple hematomas. The animal would be dead if not for the doctors...
The baby didn't let its mother go for a second. It was sitting there during the surgery and stayed with its mom for the recovery.
Now Lizzy is feeling better, and her son, whom the doctors named Phantom, started to allow to take him away from his mother for some time.
After a full recovery the animals will be released into the wild.
